Previously, World Superbikes representatives have explained that online streaming video was made complicated due to existing contracts with TV broadcasters, many of whom have also secured the rights to stream the video live on their websites. The website only mentions that the service will not be available in all countries. However, Dorna's past record on streaming video suggests that it will not be cheap.Īvailability is also uncertain. It seems unlikely that it will be set at the same level as the video pass (€99.95 for the standard pass), given that the level of interest in WSBK is not the same as MotoGP. Two questions remain unanswered: what will the video pass cost, and where will it be available? The answer to the first question is completely unknown at the moment, though will have to make an announcement fairly shortly. It will likely feature a similar service to that of video subscribers, which includes an extremely comprehensive archive. Though the announcement on the website is light on details, it promises live coverage of every weekend, including streaming of races, interviews with riders and 'exclusive video content'.

Using a single player, and Dorna's existing video infrastructue is what has made it possible for the World Superbike series to offer the online video streaming of races and archive of past videos. The layout has been adapted to echo the structure of the website, and the video player is now identical to the one used on the website. The influence of Dorna is clear in the redesign.

The update comes as part of revamping of the series website, bringing it closer inline to the website, now that the series is firmly in Dorna's hands. The World Superbike series has announced that it is to make an online video pass available to fans this season, making it possible to watch WSBK races live on the website, or rewatch them at leisure. Not exactly kosher but with the disappearance of most sports on terrestrial channels and other productions becoming streaming based, I'm not going to be backed into a corner to pay a bloated subscription fee, when for the most part, many of the channels bear little if any interest to me, comprising off a plethora of football channels, and mainstream for the masses sports, outdated films, boxsets or the inevitable, tedious, inane and banal reality shows.World Superbikes will be easier to watch for fans around the world this year. There are few if any channels/films/boxsets/international feeds I can't now watch. Spent £40 on an Amazon Firestick and £48/year on a VPN subscription along with some well known software. He offends me almost as much as Maxwell did. Anyway I cannot bear the thought of giving any money to that odious little tw*t Murdoch. Believe in ripping you off for a sub-standard pile of crap, is more accurate).

Never had and never will subscribe to Sky ("Believe in Better".my arse. That and a £3 a month Eurosport Player pass came to £96 a year. Got fed up with BT suddenly introducing a £5 a month surcharge for BT Sport to their existing broadband customers. I do however subscribe to Amazon Prime (purely for the price deals and enhanced delivery options) but their program content is accessible elsewhere anyway, if you know where to find it, so not necessairly a mandatory option for everyone. There are few if any 1080P/HD/4K channels/films/boxsets/national & international live feeds, I can't now watch.
